Utopian Society

There is a joke operating behind the scene-flats of history. It has as its running gag the ambition to perfect mankind and create a utopian society. In 4,000 years of such hucksterage it has not dawned on the particular activists that every attempt to perfect humanity brings only calamity.

No doubt, there is a failure to understand Utopia. Reminds me of the Footsteps in the Sand bit where the guy complained that God had abandoned him during his most trying times because he only saw one set of footprints. To which God replied that the single set of prints was because that was when he was carrying him.
It all seems to be about where your focus is.

Being someone who loves history and out of everything I have read, this is really too true!

Good morning Ladies.

LeSan ~ I always like that piece Footsteps in the Sand. Our focus at times can become blurred, and we forget what is important, what is true.

Kat ~ People seem to forget that history repeats itself. The truth can be hard to take sometimes.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Humankind cannot be perfected by imperfect humans.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

We just don't learn from history, do we?

The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it?
